Since 2010, Katie Hingerty has served as Managing Attorney at The Hingerty Law Firm, LLC, which specializes in criminal law and personal injury cases. Based in Atlanta, Hingerty focuses on complex personal-injury law, and she also represents those involved in automobile, motorcycle, and trucking-accident suits. The firm was formed after the dissolution of Hingerty & Gledhill, LLC, where she worked in immigration and criminal law. Today, Katie Hingerty supplements her position by doing co-op legal work with The Gledhill Law Firm, LLC, and The Abt Law Firm, LLC. She is working on forming a new firm, Abt & Hingerty, LLC, which will focus on personal injury.
Preceding her legal career, Katie Hingerty attended the University of Georgia as an undergraduate. Her class’ valedictorian, she majored in Journalism and Public Relations and received her diploma summa cum laude. During this period, she belonged to the Tate Society, the Golden Key International Honour Society, and the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Furthermore, she served as Vice President of Georgia Girls, President of Mortar Board, and Chair of the “Reading is Leading” Book Drive. Additionally, Hingerty spent a summer interning with 11th District of Georgia Congressman John Linder in Washington, D.C.
After earning her Bachelor’s degree, Katie Hingerty remained with her alma mater and enrolled in the University of Georgia School of Law. Garnering a scholarship that provided full tuition and an annual stipend, Hingerty engaged in mock-trial competitions, volunteered her legal advice to Diakonia Christian Legal Services Inc., and acted as an Honor Court Justice. For two consecutive summers, she interned with local law firms where she wrote briefs and memoranda and aided with trial preparation.
After acquiring her law license, Katie Hingerty accepted employment with Ganek Wright & Dobkin, PC. At the Lawrenceville, Georgia, firm, she assisted English- and Spanish-speaking clients with residential real estate transactions. Prior to establishing Hingerty & Gledhill, LLC, she joined Gonzalez & Associates, PC, as an Associate Attorney and took over 40 cases to trial.
